New Music & Ugly Sweaters

Hey there! Thought I’d post a quick update to let you know what we’ve been up to!

After taking some much-needed time off after the Burning River Festival at the end of July (our last gig of the 2012 Season), we started rehearsing in early November to prepare for our first gig of the 2013 Season – Light Up Lakewood on December 1. We also performed again for a special group of people at the Parma Adult Activity Center, one of our favorite annual gigs.

We took advantage of our time off on Christmas break to get three solid days of “camp” in (we essentially holed ourselves up in an windowless room for 8 hours with nothing more than trash cans, drumsticks, cheese pizza and 2-liters of Mountain Dew). We even had an ugly sweater party!

Our newest members learned most of the current show in about 2 days (impressive!). We’ve got a great group of Freshman this year who are fitting in nicely. They’re gearing up for some upcoming gigs at some St. Eds events in Jan/Feb (…more on that when we can share)!

Our veterans (some who have been with the group for 4 years) are busy learning an all-new set of pieces (songs) for this season. They’re basically doubling the amount of music they’ve already learned, a grand feat to say the least.

During our camp day, our Gold team vets we were able to learn 3 incredibly complex pieces, more difficult than we’ve ever attempted. We have one more scheduled, and we’ll learn another 3-4. We’re setting the bar pretty high this time!

We’re looking forward to performing at several elementary schools for Catholic Schools Week at the end of January, so stay tuned! I hope you’re as anxious as we are to kick this season into high gear!

Thanks again for your continued support! We appreciate every “Like” and “Share” on our Facebook page, and every time you spread the word about our new website.
